Prof. Solange I. Mussatto in the list of World’s Top 2% Scientists

Stanford University (USA) has recently published an update of the list of the World's Top 2% Scientists. This ranking, considered the most prestigious worldwide, is one of the most detailed analyses used to rank scientists in different disciplines. In this list, scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. The information is taken from the Scopus database.

The updated list features Prof. Solange I. Mussatto, Head of the Biomass Conversion and Bioprocess Technology group (BCBT group) at DTU Bioengineering, as the no. 1 in Denmark in the main sub-field of Biotechnology (considering recent data for the single year of 2021). She is also the no. 5 in the world in this sub-field for the same period.

In another list, scientists were evaluated according to their career-long citation impact (taking into account all the data until the end of 2021). This list includes 753 authors around the world within the main sub-field of Biotechnology among of which, Prof. Mussatto is ranked in the position 35, being again the no. 1 in this category in Denmark.

“It is an honor for me to be featured on these lists for the third consecutive year. This demonstrates the quality and impact of the work that is being carried out and motivates me to keep up the good work. I have always been driven by the desire to develop new bio-based technologies able to preserve the environment and improve the health and well-being of the people. By doing that, I am convinced that the future generations will be able to live in a better and more sustainable world.” (Prof. Solange I. Mussatto)
