Head of BCBT group ranked among the World's Top 2% Scientists in 2021

For the second consecutive year, Prof. Solange I. Mussatto, Head of the Biomass Conversion and Bioprocess Technology group (BCBT group) at the Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine - Technical University of Denmark, is ranked in the list of Top 2% Scientists in the World. The list of outstanding scientists was prepared by researchers from Stanford University (United States).

In this list, scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. Within the main sub-field of Biotechnology, the updated list for career-long citation impact (considering data until the end of 2020) includes 1101 authors from around the world, among of which, Prof. Mussatto is ranked in the position 46, being the no. 1 in this category in Denmark.

“I am honored to be part of this list for the second year in a row. This gives me even more motivation to move forward, developing a high-quality research that can contribute to improve the well-being of the society through the promotion of a more sustainable future” (Prof. Solange I. Mussatto)

This ranking, which is prepared by researchers from Stanford University, is one of the most detailed analysis used to rank scientists. It comprises data of more than 100,000 of the world’s most citated scientists (percentile rank of 2% or above), which have been standardized using information on their citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator. Metrics with and without self-citations and ratio of citations to citing papers are given.
